The Adjudicative Tribunals Accountability, Governance and Appointments Act (the Tribunals Act) was enacted in 2009 with a view to ensure that adjudicative tribunals are accountable, transparent and efficient in their operations while remaining independent in their decision-making. Under this legislation, two "clusters" of tribunals have been put into place: the Environment and Land Tribunals Ontario and Social Justice Tribunals Ontario.
Hear from the Executive Chairs of these two clusters as to the rationale behind clustering, the implementation of ATAGAA and their experience with the clusters to date. Is the legislation achieving what it set to do? Is it making a difference?
